David Bowles

A Mexican-American author from deep South Texas, David Bowles is an assistant professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He is the author of Ghosts of the Rio Grande Valley, and most recently, Feather Serpent, Dark Heart of Sky: Mexican Myths and They Call Me Güero, both of which were named to important best-of-lists for 2018.

Josie Martinez

Josie Martinez has served the library community as an academic, elementary, middle school and special collections librarian.  She is currently the school librarian at Highland Forest Elementary in the East Central ISD.  Ms. Martinez currently represents District 3 on the San Antonio Public Library Board of Trustees.
