Helen Thompson is a nationally known writer whose areas of specialty are interior design, architecture, kitchen design, and food. Thompson was a food writer and editor for Texas Monthly magazine and was also the managing editor of their lifestyle magazine, Domain, which covered food, restaurants, interior design and architecture. Thompson was the Texas city editor for Metropolitan Home magazine where she wrote about houses, restaurants, and gardens and produced many of the photographic features shot in Texas during the 14 years she worked for the magazine. She has also written and produced articles for Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, Dwell, House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Living, Western Interiors, Traditional Home, HOME, Veranda, Country Home and many other magazines. She is also the author of a number of books, including The Big Texas Steak House Cook Book, The Mansion on Turtle Creek Cookbook, Marfa Modern, and her latest Texas Made Texas Modern.
Thompson’s blog, Seen in House, covers Texas design and is read by fans all over the world. In 2012, the Texas Society of Architects recognized Helen’s 25 years of writing and producing by presenting her with the prestigious John G. Flowers award for the promotion of architecture in the media.
